I came across another great way to use oilcloth this morning. So simple, I don't know why I did not think of it! While checking out my "daily" blog posts, I came across this one at Farm Chicks. Serena is always finding cute ways to decorate her cupcakes, and this simple idea of using a small scrap piece of Green Dot Oilcloth along with her own very fun gingham wrapping tape makes for the most adorable little cupcake flags! Does it get any easier than this? I don't think so!

If you have not bookmarked her blog yet, you need to right away! She is so creative and has the most adorable on-line store with so many unique products to purchase! She also has a brand new book just out, The Farm Chicks Christmas just in time for the upcoming holidays! This book has an endless source of creative ideas for gift giving as well as some yummy recipes!

Love this tote bag! So fun AND functional at the same time! Wouldn't it be great in oilcloth as well? I love the "poetic" introduction to her store! She is a woman after my own heart. I most definitely relate to her obsession with sewing!

November Featured Artist at Lilybella

I have for so long followed and admired so many wonderful "handmade" artist on the internet. I never get tired of seeing all of the many creative women out there who have endless talents in working with their hands. Hence, I have decided that because of the joy I personally gain in observing them, perhaps you might, as well. So, this is my way of giving "kudos" to those out there who, as I, love doing what they do every single day, and inspire me to continue on with what I do.

My very first feature has to go to Melanie of Sweet Pickles Pottery. When I found Melanie on Etsy, I just fell in love with her "whimsical style" of painting. She paints the most adorable pottery and is so creative in her ideas for keepsakes, as well as serving pieces that people would most certainly enjoy having.

My most favorite piece of late that she has created is her whimsical "Ooh La La Red Chandelier Dry Erase Tile". Isn't this just so chic? She sent me a picture of the first rendition of this adorable pink chandelier that she first made as a collage for her "French" bathroom. So creative!! I was so happy when I saw that she had found another way to
produce it so others could share in her creativity.

She creates many special keepsake pieces such as her "All You Need is Love" Custom Wedding Plates with the most adorable wedding cake I have ever seen! The "Birthday Party custom Cupcake Plates", are just so fun too! She started out making these as gifts for her friends, and they were so popular that it inspired her to create an outlet to sell them to others. "Lucky for us!!"

Her most sought after pieces are her tea sets which she says she cannot keep in stock. Can you imagine how much your little girl would look forward to pulling this adorable "Candy Canes and Sugar Plums X-mas Tea Set" out every year at X-mas time to share tea with her teddies? It would most assuredly create the most wonderful memories for her. And, what a "special" gift for her to put away for "her own daughter" in the years to come. That just gives me chill bumps!!!

Of course, the most exciting thing for me is that Melanie has agreed to work with me in creating some "exclusive" designs just for Lilybella. Polka Dot Party

It has been awhile since I posted on my blog. It has been such a busy summer. Lots of working in the garden, playing with the kids, and catching up on some summer reading.

One of the most fun things I did this summer was to help plan a Polka Dot Birthday party for my granddaughter, Lily. This was her very first "friend" party. She was so excited and it was fun to be a part of it. I wanted to share with all of you some pics of the party. Check out how cute the Polka Dot Placemats looked on the table. I made every one of them, (all twelve!!!) by hand and personalized them with each girl's initial. The other side of the placemat is a chalkcloth mat and they had a blast participating in a drawing contest after they had their polka dot cake and ice cream. (yes, even the ice cream was Polka dot!!) It was so much fun. It truly was the highlight of the summer for me. We are excited to introduce our newest personalized cup additions. They are the same popular cups we have always had, but with a new “TWIST”. The oilcloth insert now comes with a cute chalk-cloth strip and a chalk pen so that you can do your “own personalization.”

The white chalk pen writes just like chalk, but is waterproof, fade proof, and wipes clean with a wet cloth so that you can write over and over again. Best of all…the pen comes included with the price of the cups. (These pens are also available in office supply stores for refill purposes).

Tons of new products!!

Wow! It has been a while since our last newsletter. We have made some BIG changes at Lilybella we want you to know about. We have been very, very busy over the last few months. We have created many new products for Mom, Kid's, and Baby. These have been added to our inventory just in time for Christmas shopping!

You will notice a change to some of our most popular products. I would like to take a minute to tell you about this change and why we made it. A few months ago, we began working with a new fabric. Oilcloth is a vinyl-like fabric that is waterproof and stain-resistant. You can spill an entire water bottle inside and it won't hurt a thing. Scuffs, marks, dirt, etc. clean off with just a soapy sponge. This is very exciting to those of us with little ones. As a mother of 3, I know how important it is to find products that are very functional. As Lilybella continues to grow, our number one focus will not change; to create unique, functional products that make our customers lives easier. We truly believe our new products fit this statement perfectly.

With that being said, let us introduce our new product lines:

For Women: We have brand new personalized Date Books, Address Books, Checkbook Covers, Travel Cups, Sports Bottles, and more! We have also redesigned our Diaper/Stroller Bag in the oilcloth prints. Be sure to stop by to read about all the new features.

It has been so long since our last blog! School has started again. This year, we have a First Grader, a Kindergartner, and a Preschooler. Talk about busy! We are (slowly) settling into the new schedule.

We just can't wait any longer to tell our secret! The truth is, we have several things that will be happening next week. Although we aren't revealing everything, we would like you to have a little "taste" :)

I know it has been quiet around Lilybella Boutique the last few weeks. I just wanted to let you know we are here and busy busy busy! We took a little vacation time for the summer and are back, rested and refreshed.

I have been hinting to some fun things in July for a few weeks now. Let me just say it is VERY close and we are super excited about it! I hate to be a tease, but it's just around the corner. Trust me, you will want to be around to see what's new! We just can't wait :)

Our Travel Chalk Mat is great for summer travel. The outside is made using a "kid-proof" laminated fabric that wipes clean easily with a sponge. The inside is made with chalkcloth, a unique fabric you can write on with chalk and erase easily. The Travel Chalk Mat includes "less-mess" chalk and an eraser in a handy pocket. I love zebra stripe and hot pink! So much in fact, that my 5 year old daughter, Isabel, has her room decked out in it! Needless to say, this new diaper/stroller bag was lot's of fun to make. This is our "Isabel" style diaper bag, which includes 2 outside front pockets, accented with a hot pink ruffle. The inside is a matching hot pink with zebra stripe accents.
